Founded in 1976, Vaidyaratanam Ayurveda College is a private college located in Thrissur. With an annual intake of 40 seats, the college is associated with Kerala’s Calicut University. The late Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandan Mooss founded Vaidyaratanam Ayurveda College on October 2, 1976. The college is currently run by the Vaidyaratnam Ayurvedic Educational Society, which is recognized under the Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII/1955. The Kerala University of Health Sciences is associated with Vaidyaratanam Ayurveda College, which grants a B.A.M.S. degree (Ayurveda acharya).The five and a half-year course is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM). The vast campus houses academic and administrative buildings, medical facilities, an amphitheater, a herbal garden, mixed-gender dorms, and sports and entertainment facilities. Vaidyaratanam Ayurveda College is a remarkable establishment concerning academic distinction and accomplishments. In addition to offering a wealth of academic resources, the numerous departments and associated facilities help to produce research that is up to level with global standards.
On the college’s campus is a sizable hospital facility. The hospital’s superintendent is Dr. V N Prasanna, MD (Ay), and the RMO is Dr. K S Nandalal, MD (Ay). The hospital has 150 IP beds, 8 OP sessions per day, and state-of-the-art diagnostic and clinical facilities, such as 3 operating rooms, a state-of-the-art biochemistry lab, an X-ray unit, an ECG unit, and an ultrasound scan unit. There are two Panchakarma theaters for men and women, a yoga ward, and an accompanying physiotherapy rehabilitation section. There are further services offered by the hospital, including ksharasuthra treatment, antenatal clinic, infertility clinic, ENT and eye illnesses clinic, visha therapy, skin clinic, paediatric treatment, spine disease clinic, hridroga clinic, and manasaroga clinic.
