About College
The goal of the Institute of Ayurvedic Medical College is to attain excellence in research and education related to Ayurveda. The College provides a five and a half-year (4 and a half years + one year required internship) Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery degree program.
The Central Council of Indian Medicine, located in New Delhi, has granted approval for the college, which is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The Karnataka government has also acknowledged the college.
With the sole goal of reviving and developing the Indian medical system, the college aims to produce profoundly scholarship graduates with in-depth scientific knowledge of Ayurveda in accordance with the Ayurvedic fundamentals coupled with extensive practical training. These graduates would be effective teachers, researchers, and surgeons, known as Shalya Chikitsaka and Kaya Chikitsaka.
The T.M.A.E.’s Ayurvedic Medical College is supported by the Shri Tegginamath Arts and Educational Society, Harapanahalli, a well-known Davangere district philanthropic organization that operates a chain of educational institutions in seven Karnataka districts. The D.Pharmacy, B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, Homeopathic Medical College at Harapanahalli, and several technical colleges are run by the Society, which is a unique distinction.
Situated on the college grounds, this well-equipped hospital has 120 beds and is run by the chief medical officer and principal. In order to serve patients with all the amenities they need, it has a well-established laboratory, surgical theatre, maternity room, Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya, Prasoothi & Streeroga, Kaumarabhritya, Panchakarma divisions, and an X-ray plant.
In addition to the standard wards for men and women, it features individual rooms for patients requiring specialized extra care. The patients can also utilize an ambulance that is available.
