Taranath Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College

Established in 1947, Taranath Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College is a government college located in Ananthapur. With an annual intake of 47 seats, the college is associated with Bangalore’s Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, which is situated in Karnataka.Prior to 1976, Taranath Government Ayurvedic Medical College was a private institution located in Bellary. Prior to that, Taranath Ayurveda Vidyapeet, a private trust, oversaw the college. The followers created a Registered Trust in Pt. Taranathji’s honor. On the bank of the Tungabadra near Tungabadra village, Pandit Taranathji founded an institute called “Premayatana or Prema VidyaPeet” under the Madras province. There, he preached Ayurveda, Yoga, music, etc. in the Gurukula manner. The government of Madras at the time acknowledged the Ayurvedic certification that this college issued.
