His Divine Right In order to satisfy the need for knowledge among the rural populace of Belgaum District, Dr. Shri Shivanand Bharathi Mahaswamiji of Shri Shivayogeeswar Sadhu Samsthan Math, Inchal, founded the Shri Shivanand Bharathi Education Society at INCHAL in 1975. The organization’s goal was to provide education and subsequently employment opportunities. It all began with a little primary school with a modest student body. After 40 years of serving the community, the S. S. B. E. Society is still standing strong today, offering students a wide range of opportunities, including medical education, from K. G. to P. G. Numerous national awards have been given to the Society; these honors are like a collection of feathers in a cap. With a vision, Dr. Shri Shivanand Bharathi Swamiji consistently inspires both the staff and the students with his words and actions. Swamiji, he himself has a master’s degree in Sanskrit and was just granted a doctorate, or Ph.D.
The Karnataka government has recognized the college, which is associated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore. In accordance with the visiting recommendations issued by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, The APEX Body of Studies of Indian Medicine in INDIA, New Delhi, it is also allowed under Section 13C & A of the IMCC Act 1970 by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
The college has been expanding rapidly. Its 26.3-acre campus includes more than 7500 square meters of covered space (4200 square meters of college and 3500 square meters of hospital), roomy classrooms, 14 fully functional departments, fully stocked demonstration/practical labs/dissection hall, a teaching pharmacy, a 175-bed teaching hospital with an abundance of clinical material, 5.6 acres of a herbal garden, a sizable library with a vast collection of necessary texts and journals, a digital library with internet access, a 5-acre playground, and separate facilities for boys and girls hostels and the mess—all located on the same campus.
