About College
The Ayurvedic Medical College of the Shri Jagadguru Gurusiddeshwar Co-Operative Hospital Society was founded in 1996–1997 and can accommodate up to 25 students. The Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, have authorized this college, which is associated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and has expanded the intake strength to 100 seats for the BAMS programme starting in 2019–20.
The institution has all 14 departments in accordance with CCIM standards, complete with labs, tools, equipment, models, and charts for student instruction. For postgraduate courses, any extra facilities that are required have been given.
There is a well-established library with over 12,000 books covering a wide range of topics, a lush, beautiful herbal garden covering around three acres, and a separate dorm for male and female students that is equipped with the necessities. There are also all the amenities needed for both indoor and outdoor games available.
The 150-bed Ayurvedic Hospital offers a wide range of amenities, with a focus on Ksharasootra and Panchakarma therapy. Frequent medical camps in neighboring communities where the impoverished and in need receive free medical examinations and medication. Frequent health check-up camps and “Swarna Prasana” camps for young children are held, and the impoverished patients in the camps are given medicine.
