Since then, one of Maharashtra State’s oldest ayurvedic colleges, Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, has been providing ayurvedic treatment. This government-funded college offers undergraduate and graduate programs in naturopathy, yoga, acupressure, and Ayurveda. The college’s strength lies in its excellent building, knowledgeable instructors, committed support personnel, and well-kept departments. With great delight, Bharatiya Vaidyak Samanvaya Samiti founded this college in 1953, and the Vidarbha Ayurved Board later acknowledged it in 1956. The college is currently connected with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, having formerly been associated with Nagpur University.This renowned Ayurvedic institute in Central India has a state-of-the-art research laboratory, first-rate library, a fully functional hospital, and well-established departments. In India and throughout the rest of the world, the college’s postgraduate students are excelling in the field of ayurveda.
The Hospital was founded on February 13, 1949, by the then-Governor of C.P. & Berar, Shri Mangaldasji Pakwasa, and served as the model for Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj.On January 1, 1950, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated Raja Bakhta Buland Shah Palace, providing two acres of land for a herbal garden, in the presence of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the Indian President at the time, as a Guest of Honor. Thanks to the kind donations made by the dignitaries in attendance at the inauguration, several departments, including Kayachikitsa, Shalaytantra, Shalakyatantra, Strirog, Balrog, and Prasutitantra, among others, were outfitted with the necessary tools. Herbal gardens and pharmacies also emerged later. Patients suffering from various states were being eased of their pain, particularly as a result of Chikitsa, Ksharkarma, Jalaukakarma, and Agnikarma treating them for piles and fistulas.
