About College
Ling’s ideal institution is S. G. V. Ayurvedic Medical College, Bailhongal, run by S.N.V.V.S. Shri Man Niranjana Pranava Swarupi Gangadhar Maha Swamiji, Parama Pujya, Tippimath (Murusavira) Bailhongal. Situated on 15 acres of land, it is right in the middle of the city. The college is 50 km away from Belgaum on a road that is also connected by rail and air.
It was founded in 1996–1997 by His Holiness for the welfare of rural residents, with approval from the Karnataka government and CCIM New Delhi. The institution features fourteen departments that are well-furnished and equipped, along with seven museums and the necessary laboratories that meet AYUSH and CCIM New Delhi standards.Staff members in every department are knowledgeable and skilled, which helps to expand students’ understanding. Frequent guest lectures and continuing medical education are planned to achieve students’ academic growth. A quality control lab and teaching pharmacy are connected to the departments of Rasashastra, Bhaishajya Kalpana, and Dravyaguna. Hospitals use a variety of prepared foods, including Hingwashtaka Churna, Sitopaladi Churna, Talisadi Churna, and Ksheerabala Taila. Two acres of land are converted into a well-maintained, well-irrigated college herb garden with 200 varieties of plants. The central library has a sizable book collection to enhance staff and student knowledge.
Ayurvedic Medical College, a hospital with sixty beds and eight outpatient departments, serves the underprivileged and destitute. The hospital has well-equipped major and minor operating theaters, male and female separate Panchakarma therapy rooms, a labor room, and amenities for Agnikarma Raktamokshana, Kshara Karma, and other services. The hospital contains a central pathology lab where different blood tests as well as other necessary investigations are performed. It also features USG, ECG, and X-ray services.
In neighboring villages, the institute holds health check-up camps and gives patients in the communities free medications. at addition, health check-up camps are held at elementary and secondary schools as well as hospitals.In addition, this college has a restaurant, a playground, an indoor game area, and separate accommodations for males and girls.The college hosts CMEs and guest lectures to keep teachers and students up to date on their knowledge. College instructors are dispatched to attend State, National, and International Seminars, Workshops, and the like, in order to keep their teaching skills up to date.
