About College
Founded in 2002, Shanthigiri Ayurveda Medical College is a private college located in Palakkad. With an annual intake of 50 seats, the college is associated with Kerala’s Calicut University.The Central Council of Indian Medicine, located in New Delhi, oversees the college.
Santhigiri Ashram, inspired by its founder, “NAVAJYOTHISREE KARUNAKARA GURU,” founded Shanthigiri Ayurveda Medical College.Establishing an Ayurvedic Hospital was the first step towards achieving Guru’s objective. In 1997, Guru opened a hospital in Olassery, Palakkad, to serve the needs of the nearby roughly sixty villages. It is located in complete peace and quiet amid paddy fields and palm trees, next to the Santhigiri Palakkad Branch Ashram, and on the banks of Sokanashini Puzha, a river that heals sorrows and tributary of Bharatapuzha.It seeks to develop a cadre of highly accomplished physicians with a solid background in Ayurveda, scientific understanding in line with Ayurvedic principles, and substantial hands-on training.
