Sushruta Bhavan, Director, Institute for Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda OfficeFounded in 1966, Gujrat Ayurved University is a government college located in Jamnagar. The Central Institute of Research in Ayurveda was founded by the Indian government in 1952 and is housed in the spacious “Dhanvantari Mandir” edifice in Jamnagar.A Post Graduate Training Center in Ayurveda (PGTCA).
uly 20, 1956.CIRISM and PGTCA combined to establish the Institute for Ayurvedic Studies and Research (IASR) in 1962.The Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA) replaced the term IASR in 1963.Immovable properties and other assets of IPGT & RA were transferred to the GAU for the Institute’s management on June 11, 1970, when a Lease Deed was signed between the Government of India and the GAU.Gujarat Ayurved University is in charge of running this institute, which is entirely funded by the Indian government.
