About College
Under the direction of Dr. Balwinder Singh Walia, the Guru Nanak Educational Charitable Society Regd. was founded in Gopalpur, District Ludhiana, in 1997. Through its colleges, Guru Nanak Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Institute (B.A.M.S), Guru Nanak College of Education (B.Ed. & M.Ed.), and Guru Nanak College of Nursing (GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Post Basic Nursing), the Society offers professional, medical, and nursing education to the surrounding areas, particularly to rural students. These colleges operate under the name and style of Guru Nanak Group of Colleges. The community is served by a large number of doctors, teachers, and nurses who attended these institutes of higher learning.
Hospital: The Guru Nanak Hospital is also managed by the Society in Dehlon and offers reasonably priced medical services, including as X-rays, ECGs, modern labs, and ultrasound scans, to the local population. In addition, the society arranges free medical camps, gives away free medications to the underprivileged, distributes free rations on Sangrangha every month, plants trees, hosts free eye checkup camps, and engages in numerous other charitable endeavors to help the less fortunate and improve the lives of those who fall below the poverty line.
