Government Ayurveda College

Kannur’s Government Ayurveda College was founded in 1991. This college is associated with Kannur University; it began offering the BAMS programme on January 15, 1992, and can accommodate up to 30 students annually. The Govt. Ayurveda College, Kannur was granted 35 acres of land in Kadannappally Village and Kannur Taluk.

With effect from June 1, 1998, the College’s operations are now housed in the recently built Pariyaram building. This college in Pariyaram also has a 150-bed college hospital where house surgeons and BAMS and PG students receive practical training. The Central Council of Indian Medicine in New Delhi and the Kerala government have issued directives increasing the number of BAMS seats from 30 to 40 starting in the 2002–03 academic year and 40 to 60 starting in the 2018–19 academic year.
