About College
The Dhanwantari Ayurveda College Hospital and Research Center in Siddhapur was founded in 1998 with the goals of providing people with access to healthcare and disseminating knowledge about the science of Ayurveda. Being the sole medical college in the Uttara Kannada area, the institution offers a methodical approach to the study of medicine that integrates the modern medical sciences with the age-old Ayurvedic principles. The college, which is located in the lush, green Sahyadris region of Western Ghats and is the birthplace of traditional ayurvedic treatments, offers scholars a fantastic platform for continuing their medical studies.
Now a fully fledged Ayurvedic institute with 100 students enrolled in each batch, the college started off with just three students. With six students in each batch, DACH offers post-graduation programs in two branches: Panchakarma and Kayachikitsa. The college strives to give students a top-notch education, and this is demonstrated by the students’ success in several courses, where they receive commendable grades. For their physical and emotional well-being, students are encouraged to engage in extracurricular activities such as sports and cultural events in addition to their academic studies.
The college is situated on a sizable campus that also has a play area, auditorium, canteen, hospital, research lab, and dorms. The classrooms are well-ventilated, roomy, and equipped with cutting-edge teaching tools like audio-visual aids, a library with a sizable collection of books and journals, a digital library with internet access, a herb garden with a variety of plant species, including some that are endangered, a separate museum and departmental library for each faculty, a well-equipped dissection theater, and well-trained staff.
