Dr. R. V. Phansalkar, Dr. V. S. Kelkar, Dr. V. B. Bhide, Vyakranbhusan Nrusinhacharya Gajendragadkar, Vd. Tryambakshastri N. Joshi, Shri S. V. Joshi, and Dr. S. R. Gokhale are the founding members of the college.”Maharashtriya Aryangla Vaidyak Shala” was the founding name. It’s also referred to as Seth Chandanmal Mutha Aryangla Vaidyak Mahavidyalaya nowadays. Simultaneously, Ayurved Prasarak Mandali was created and assumed control of this college. It is the first college or institute in India to offer combined Ayurvedic and allopathic education. Approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Seth Chandanmal Mutha Aryangla Vaidyak Mahavidyalaya is associated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).
The institution is located on the historic Satara-Pune route, close to but outside of the city limits. The college building has its own herbal garden on three sides, and there is a temple called Ram-Dhyana Mandir across from it. It offers a green building canvas for the college.It is a magnificent example of two-story architecture with stone elevations. There is a stunning statue of Lord Dhanvantari at the entrance hall. The college students used to begin each day’s work by praying to Lord Dhanvantari.
The classrooms have enough of natural light and are properly ventilated. Every classroom can accommodate up to 100 pupils. All classrooms are equipped with an overhead projector, a slide projector, an LCD projector, and a TV DVI-D player. Every classroom has a large veranda.
