Dr. Vitthal Rao Vikhe Patil Foundation Ayurved College

Established in 1999, Padamshri Dr. Vitthal Rao Vikhe Patil Foundation Ayurved College is a private college located in Ahmednagar. The college is connected to Nashik, Maharashtra’s Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. The Medical College and Hospital of the Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation has become a premier hub for medical education, training, and research at the national level, with a focus on providing healthcare services, particularly to marginalized communities right at their doorstep. The Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation was inspired by the acute lack of medical facilities to construct a medical college in Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar, in 2004. Padmabhushan Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, the institute’s founder, provided wise leadership and insightful insight that allowed the institution to achieve notable successes in both academics and health services at the local level.The college provides postgraduate courses in fifteen disciplines as well as an undergraduate medical program (MBBS), which accepts 150 students annually. The institute is associated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and was granted recognition in 2009 by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi. The 33-acre medical complex is located in the picturesque Vilad Ghat neighborhood of Ahmednagar. In addition, there are four primary health centers: Dehare, Jeur, Walki, and Mehekari; one urban health center located in Burudgaon; and one rural health training center located in Bhalawani for undergraduate training. All of these facilities, along with the over 860-bed Dr. Vikhe Patil Memorial Hospital, offer subsidized treatment to their patients.
