About College
A leading facility for Ayurvedic medical education and research is N.K. Jabshetty Ayurvedic Medical College & Post Graduate Centre, located in Bidar. With the motto “Health for All,” it was founded by Sri Chidambara Shikshana Samsthe, which is led by Param Poojya Sri Shiva Kumar Swamiji of Sri Siddharudh Math. Its goals include promoting the Indian System of Medicine, Ayurveda, and offering professional education, enrichment for students, and effective healthcare to the suffering people of this area.
The Honorable Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Sri Shivraj Patil, gave the college its official opening on September 19, 1991.With an enrollment of 60 students, the undergraduate Ayurvedic course, or BAMS, was progressively launched in the academic years 1991–1992.
As the premier school, the college was granted permission to begin offering postgraduate Ayurvedic courses, specifically the MD and MS Ayurvedic programs, in two specializations: MD in Rachana Sharir (Anatomy) and MS in Shalya Tantra (Surgery), with a capacity of five students per department. The programs began in the academic year 2000-01. The same year, three students were admitted to the MD program in Pancha Karma (Ayurvedic Special Curative Therapy) for the academic year 2002–03 and five students were admitted to the MS program in Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga (Gynecology & Obstetrics). The MD programs in Dravya guna, Rasashastra, Bhaishajya Kalpana, and Roga Nidana were initiated in 2013–14, each with a four-student intake. Consequently, a total of 30 seats are available for the P.G. course.
With a modern, scientific perspective, the college upholds the highest standards of Ayurvedic education and training. The college has produced deserving graduates and postgraduates with a high success rate in their professional lives because to this kind of approach.
