SCSES’S Rural Institute of Ayurved, Research Centre & Hospital

About College
Dr. Mahadev Ramchandra Deshmukh, the founding president, founded the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Education Society in 1992. The society was incorporated under the Karnataka Society Register Act 1960, with registration number 5/92-93. The society’s registered offices are in Kolhapur, Maharashtra State, and Dharwad, Karnataka State. The Society’s administrative office is situated in Mayani Tal, Khatav District, Satara. On 30 acres of land, the society built a medical college and hospital in Mayani. Dr. M.R. Deshmukh had seen the struggles that the sick, who were primarily from the lower classes in rural society, encountered. He was touched by their sorrows and felt passionately that all medical facilities should be provided in the rural region itself, under one roof, in order to alleviate their suffering.

At Mayani, the institute is in charge of a 346-bed, fully operational hospital. Six well-equipped operation theaters with central oxygen supply, laminar airflow, central suction, and central air conditioning are among the hospital’s amenities. The hospital offers intensive care units (ICUs) for patients with heart conditions, newborns, and pediatric patients.

In order to provide medical students with training, the hospital’s affiliated medical college has fully functional preclinical, paraclinical, and clinical departments. Senior and seasoned educators oversee the departments. A sizable selection of national and international journals, reference materials, and textbooks are available at the central library. Online access is provided by MUHS’s digital library. Separate pleasant hostels are available for boys and girls at the college.
