About College
The Government of Rajasthan founded the National Institute of Ayurveda College in August 1946. On February 7, 1976, this College amalgamated to become the National Institute of Ayurveda, or NIA, in the Ayurvedic community. As early as 1970, this was one of the very few Ayurvedic Colleges in the nation to offer Post-Graduate Education in Ayurveda.
The Institute was founded in 1976 and has since expanded greatly in the areas of teaching, training, research, patient care, etc. As a result, it currently offers 14 post-graduate education specialties and a regular fellowship program that leads to a Ph.D. In addition, there are other certificate programs including the AYUSH Nursing and Pharmacy Diploma Program, the Undergraduate course (BAMS), and several others.
NIA is home to a 280-bed hospital with NABH accreditation that serves about 3 lakh patients. Every day, 1200–1500 patients come to NIA OPDs. The hospital has a state-of-the-art pathology laboratory that operates in PPP mode. The center has state-of-the-art equipment for conducting drug research and standardization.
Since its founding, it has consistently worked to advance changes and advancements in the Ayurvedic medical system on a national and worldwide scale. Not only is the Institute a top-tier institution under the Central Government, but it is also one of the best in the nation for Ayurvedic education and training, second only to none in terms of Ayurveda.
With its unmatched academic standards in the field of Ayurveda at the graduation, post-graduate, fellowship (Ph.D.), diploma, and certificate levels, NIA has established a reputation for excellence in teaching, training, and patient care activities.
