A private college founded in 1995, Sri Jayendra Sarswathi Ayurveda College & Hospital is located in Chennai. The college, which has an annual intake of 50 seats, is associated with Saraswathi Vishwa, Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Kanchipuram (Deemed University), and is situated in Tamil Nadu. at 1993, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, the 69th Acharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, founded “Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya,” a presumed to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, at Kanchipuram. Thus immortalized is the name of his renowned Guru, the great Maha Swamigal. The Indian Prime Minister at the time officially opened the aforementioned Mahavidyalaya and granted it the status of a Deemed University.
The university’s distinct goals include bridging the gap between the past academic achievements and the present technology innovations by investigating and showcasing the Indian cultural legacy. The promotion of Sanskrit as a language and of Sanskrit studies and courses is the common undercurrent. The current equivalents of the ancient Shastras, such as Artha, Vaasthu, Vimaana, Shulba, Krishi, Virksha, Shilpa, Khagola, Jyotish, etc., are Architecture, Computer Technology, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Business Administration, etc. Along these lines, the Sanskrit, Arts & Science, Engineering, Computer Technology, and Business Management courses are offered at multiple centers managed by the S.C.S.V.M.V., the Deemed to be University.
The University established Sri Jayendra Sarswathi Ayurveda College & Hospital (SJSACH) as one of its units in 1995 and launched the five and a half-year B.A.M.S. program (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) in an effort to produce active physicians and energetic scientists of Ayurveda. The college has been approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, which is the government authority for Ayurvedic education across India. Since then, in addition to excellent health care management, the college and hospital have grown with notable advancements in instructional quality and infrastructural facilities.
