About College
Nadiad’s J.S. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya is a private college that was founded in 1938. With an annual intake of 40 seats, the college is associated with Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, which is situated in Gujarat.
In 1938, Vaidya Sundarlal Joshi founded J.S. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya (JSAM) with the support of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and a sense of patriotism. Prior to this, the institution was a grant-in-aid organization. The Mahagujarat Medical Society (MMS), the administrative body, became self-financed in 2007 after realizing the institute’s potential and wanting to have a say in its own development. This made it possible for the institute to operate autonomously while working together toward a common objective: professional growth and advancement in the fields of Āyurvedic education, research, and health care delivery.
The College has an excellent collection of rare herbs, plants, and trees in its well-kept Herbal Garden, which occupies 4472.95 square meters. The Garden includes a Demonstration Room and over 8000 medicinal plants. Sanskrit and botanical names are used on plant nameplates for easy and obvious identification for the benefit of students and the general public. Water was applied to the plants nearly every day. There is still work being done to raise the current figures. Herb Garden Space: 4472.95 Sq. M / 48145 Sq. Ft.
