Founded in 1922, one of the nation’s oldest ayurvedic colleges provides a five-year, six-month BAMS program. The college has CCIM, New Delhi, recognition.One of the oldest Ayurvedic colleges in the nation is the State Ayurvedic College and Hospital, located in Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar. The renowned social reformer, freedom fighter, and Aryasamaji, Swami Shraddha Nand ji, founded this educational institution in 1922 with the goal of preserving Hindu philosophy, culture, and traditions, including the Vedas, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, and astrology.The State Government of Uttarakhand currently governs the college, which was provincialized on August 10, 1978. It is associated with H.N.B. Central University, Srinagar, Garhwal (Uttarakhand). It is one of the top educational institutions in the field of ayurvedic medical education, offering both teaching and training.
Situated near the banks of the holy Ganges, the college campus enjoys a serene and natural setting. It is connected to the Haridwar-Delhi national highway by a 5-kilometer stretch of road that passes by a variety of fruit, medicinal, herb, and shrub plants.The distance is roughly 200 km to the national capital of New Delhi and 55 km to the state capital of Dehradoon.The closest airport is located 40 kilometers from the university at Jolly Grant in Dehradun.
A normal five-year, six-month Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery program is offered by the college; this program is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) in New Delhi.
There are O.P.D.s in every clinical area for the purpose of training students and treating patients, in addition to a well-equipped 150-bed hospital where patients with a variety of illnesses are treated with ayurveda therapy by specialists from various branches. Patients can receive services from a well-equipped labor room, operation theater, pathology lab, X-ray, E.E.G., E.C.G., Kshar Sutra Clinic, and Panchakarma Clinic.
Osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, asthma, bronchial allergies, ascites, diabetes, intestinal disorders, liver diseases, heart diseases, epilepsy, malnutrition-related diseases in children, infertility, skin disorders, leucorrhoea and other gynecological diseases, fracture and dislocation, fistula in ano, fissure in ano, piles, anal prolapse, chronic ulcers, urinary disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, and autoimmune diseases, among other chronic illnesses, are successfully managed.
